Comments: Readthrough terminators downstream of lepA and dnaK lead to a 1.8 kb monocistronic lepA transcript and a 3.6 kb hrcA-grpE-dnaK transcript, respectively. The internal promoter upstream of dnaJ produces to a 4.3 kb dnaJ-yqeTUV transcript. A cleavage site between hrcA and grpE produced a 7.0 kb grpE-dnaKJ-yqeTUV mRNA and a 2.6 kb grpE-dnaK mRNA molecule. Slot-blot and immunoblot experiments with a lepA mutant showed that lepA and hemN are transcribed from the same promoter.
