Comments: Partial termination at the stem-loop downstream of thrZ gives rise to a 2.5 kb monocistronic thrZ transcript. Northern blotting also showed transcripts of 250 bp, 500 bp, and 750 bp, presumably due to transcriptional termination at the stem-loops in front of thrZ caused by binding of uncharged tRNA-Thr to the T-box sequence motifs. The tRNA anticodon binds to the ACC codon in the UUACCGCC sequences in the thrZ leader mRNA.
