Comments: Northern blotting experiments listed in BSORF show various measured mRNA transcripts in the yaaJ-scr region. Struck et al. (1990) find a promoter in front of yaaJ, upstream of scr, and suggest that transcription starting at this promoter continues into scr. The S1 nuclease mapping of the 3' end shows that transcription ends in the T-stretch of the indicated terminator structure.
